What is it?

It’s a 3-day, full-weekend, Lolita fashion convention-style event. It's for you and every fashionista who loves EGL. It’s a weekend of shopping, learning, and partying with your Best Fashion Friends. It’s a time to unwind, relax, and engage in your favorite hobby. It’s a place where you can discuss EGL fashion with serious, like-minded individuals.

For information about the organization putting on the event, the type of fashion we admire, and more, please visit our About page and our FAQ.

The theme for Royal Vegas Retreat 2020 will be “Alice in Vegas”!

Alice falls down a rabbit hole - this time, into Las Vegas. Surrounded by unfamiliar sights and sounds, she sets out to explore, and finds mad hatters, white rabbits, games and cards, mysterious bottles, queens and kings, caterpillars chain-smoking over penny slots, strange grinning cats, and more...

Please note that you do not have to dress in accordance to the theme at Royal Vegas Retreat 2020 - only adhere to our dress code, described in our event FAQ.

What about COVID-19?

We've been hard at work preparing for Royal Vegas Retreat in November, despite the ongoing threat of the global pandemic. Our venue, the MGM Grand Las Vegas, has been in touch with us regarding ways we can keep our event safe for everyone.

Please see the venue's safety plan that they will put into effect as part of their reopening: https://www.mgmresorts.com/en/covid-19/seven-point-safety-plan.html

We at Pretty Princess Club are also working on our end to make our event as safe as possible for everyone involved. In addition to a lower, hard cap on attendance, we expect that we will ask our attendees to maintain an appropriate social distance from one another, as well as wear masks when possible. We are looking into the best ways to provide masks to attendees if they are unable to bring your own. In the meantime, we encourage you to get inspired by coords with masks!

Given the need to maintain space between groups of attendees, we are changing our floor plans and our schedule of content. We may not be able to bring you everything we promised throughout Royal Vegas Retreat, and some portions of our event might take a different form than we originally envisioned. Thank you in advance for your understanding, and we will be sure to update you with the latest information on all of the content throughout the event.

Ultimately, the decision whether to put on this event at all is in the hands of the venue. If they decide in November that it is no longer safe to have Royal Vegas Retreat, we will postpone our event to a later date. As of now, the venue is enthusiastic about moving forward with our and other events this year. In the event that we must cancel outright, we will refund all ticket purchases.

Of course, given the unprecedented nature of the situation, we expect guidance to change and new information to come to light as we get closer to November. We've been planning this event since late 2018, and COVID-19 has been an unexpected curveball none of us were anticipating. We expect the nature of in-person events to fundamentally change, and we will be looking to other J-fashion events like Paradiso this August to set the tone.

In the meantime, we ask that you continue doing your part to make the world a safer place: continue social distancing even if your state is reopening businesses, and wear masks whenever you must be out and about. We are so impressed with the ideals of the global EGL community and how compassionate and considerate everyone has been throughout the pandemic! Keep up the great work, and know that you're making a difference through your actions.
